What is a Dental Implant?
Dental Implants are effective and a permanent solution for replacing missing teeth. On completion of the treatment dental implants are indistinguishable from natural teeth.
Are Dental Implants right for me?
Yes…
- If you have one or several missing teeth.
- If you have failing teeth, crown or bridge.
- If you want to get rid of those loose or uncomfortable dentures.
Benefits over conventional alternatives
- An alternative to a denture: Implants provide firm, fixed teeth similar to your own natural teeth, that do not fall out or move when eating.
- An alternative to a bridge: Conventional bridgework involves cutting down the adjacent teeth to be used as crowns. This destruction of healthy teeth is unnecessary and will decrease the life span of these teeth. Implants therefore preserve the remaining dentition.
How long does the treatment take?
The entire process is done in 3 stages and can take between 4 to 6 months.
- Stage 1. Treatment planning – This takes 2 appointments – the 1st is an initial FREE consultation of 15 mins where everything is explained and you can ask questions. The 2nd appointment is 1 hour and a very important stage of treatment where a thorough assessment is done. Radiographs and clinical photographs will be taken and the treatment is carefully planned according to individual patients needs. Patients will be given treatment options and various payment plans so informed choices can be made.
- Stage 2. Implant Placement – This is a simple and straightforward procedure. A small titanium post is placed in a predetermined position in your jaw where previously the root of the missing tooth was present.
- Stage 3. Implant crown loading – The permanent natural looking crown is placed and your bite is checked.
Recovering from implant surgery
Placement of dental implants are less troublesome than having teeth removed. With modern anaesthesia and close attention to post operative care, you can expect minimal discomfort in the form of a dull ache for 2-5 days.
A dental implant looks unbelievably realistic, and as strong if not stronger than natural teeth. If looked after, they can last a life time and are a long term investment value for the cost involved.
After Care
After your treatment, it is important that you take care of your dental implant as you would any other. Brush your teeth at least twice a day and visit your dentist regularly.
Payment Plan
We can work out an in-house payment plan to suit both parties
WE HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR IMPLANTS…
